Automotive Rubber Seals
Automotive Rubber Seals
The automotive rubber seals on our vehicles are often not taken proper care of, though these need equal maintenance as do the other parts of an automobile. Basically, Ozone and the UV rays are the two main elements that are responsible for the damage and discoloration of rubber seals. The only way to protect the automotive rubber seals is by using rubber or vinyl protective coating on the rubber seals once those are washed clean with household detergents. Here is a step by step procedure to guide you through the cleaning of automotive rubber seals. Check it out:

Step 1 First of all apply a wax solvent over the entire rubber seal or rubber seals. The tires and seals are actually treated with wax in the initial period to add shine and gloss to them. Thus, it is necessary to remove the wax first so that it becomes feasible to clean the seals and apply vinyl or rubber coating properly.

Step 2 Now make a simple soap solution with water and dish soap for cleaning the rubber seals. One can easily apply this solution all over the rubber seals in the vehicle, that too without the risk of scratches or damage of any kind to the metal detailing of the vehicle.

Step 3 Next, one need to hose the vehicle down and let it dry with the help of a soft cloth.

Step 4 Now lastly, pour some rubber vinyl(whichever you prefer) onto a piece of soft, dry cloth and rub it gently back and forth on the seals until it starts shining. Another advantage of such protective seal is that helps in scrubbing off any of the existing dirt particles on the seals which left lying during the initial washing of rubber seals.
